Shopping for therepy By Ian Read of Goldfinch Enterprises This time of the year, just after Christmas and the new year still not with us always seems as though every body is in a sort of suspended animation people are on holiday but no one is really doing anything. The weather is generally cold and miserable and for those of us that can't afford to get away to hotter climes the one thing that we have got are the holiday sales, were we can go and join what seems like the rest of our species fighting to gain entry to the shop with the cheapest jeans, or bag some item that we could do with out but because it has been reduced in price by 50% this is the item for us, and we will move heaven and earth to get it. We arrive home with our treasured possession, take one look at it and promptly place it in the back of the nearest cupboard and forget about it . This consumerism at it’s best and as consumers we always work best and buy more at this time of the Year when we are cold miserable and depressed all with the intention of cheering ourselves up.
